The ancient Greeks would have been proud

After excercising my rant in the last post, I have to bring attention to something that has inspired me all day yesterday and today. Or someone - and that is Lori-Ann Muenzer.

Lori-Ann Muenzer is a hero. Plain and simple. Read that woman's story. Try to get your head around what she accomplished. Fully around it: 15 years. 5 major injuries at the worst times. Losing her job, going into debt. Not even enough funding from the government so that she can bring her coach to the Olympics. All by herself at the Olympics - no other cyclists from Canada. She's 38 years old, and she defeats A) the 20 year old world record holder (Australian!) in the semis then B) blows a 21 yearl old Russian out of the water in the final, winning Canada's only Olympic gold in cycling ever

That woman's story should be told to every Canadian who ever wants to quit.
